- The talks come ahead of Chinese President Xi's visit to New Delhi for the BRICS summit on September 12-13.
- Doval also met Chinese Vice President Han Zhang, discussing border peace and improving bilateral ties.
- The SR mechanism set up in 2003 covers the 3,488 km border dispute, with the last round in August 2025.
