Odisha SIR exercise complete, 20.56 lakh voters removed says Chief Electoral Officer
- Odisha's Chief Electoral Officer S Gopalan said in an interview on Monday that the SIR exercise, begun on 30 May 2026, is now complete.
- Around 20.56 lakh voters were removed overall, including 8.32 lakh deceased and 8.08 lakh who had shifted permanently.
- The final roll stands at 3,16,32,754 electors, up from the draft roll after 2.9 lakh new additions via Forms 6 and 8.
- Gopalan said deletions amounted to just 6% of the roll, calling it low since Odisha's rolls were "good to begin with."
