Petroleum Minister Puri dismisses LPG shortage rumours as output rises
- Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri denied any LPG shortage in India amid concerns over supplies during the Middle East conflict.
- He said domestic LPG production has risen from 34,000 to 55,000–56,000 tonnes a day to meet demand.
- Puri said temporary restrictions were imposed to prevent hoarding and black marketing after panic buying pushed daily cylinder use to 90 lakh.
- He said LPG bookings can be made digitally and cylinders are delivered to homes, urging people not to believe shortage rumours.
