Pakistan minister warns India could weaponise Indus Waters Treaty, fears conflict
- Pakistan minister Ahsan Iqbal said on Saturday at the Asia Society that India could use the Indus Waters Treaty as a weapon.
- Iqbal said the 1960 treaty had remained untouchable for seven decades before India unilaterally held it in abeyance.
- He said Pakistan hoped better sense would prevail so the two countries do not go into another conflict over water.
- India put the treaty in abeyance after the Pahalgam terror attack, with Pakistan calling water its red line.
