Rising costs keep more young Europeans living with their parents for longer
- Young Europeans leave home at 26 on average, but the age varies sharply between northern and southern Europe.
- Spain, Italy, Croatia and Greece see young people leave home at an average age of over 30.
- Finland has the lowest average at 21, followed by Denmark at 22 and Estonia and Sweden at 23.
- Italy has the EU’s lowest youth employment rate at 47.6%, while the EU average stands at 65.5%.
