SEBI to revamp SME listing framework, tighten rules for AI use
- SEBI chief Tuhin Kanta Pandey said on August 19 in Mumbai that a comprehensive reform of the Small and Medium Enterprises listing framework is planned.
- SEBI will review trading lots, market making, underwriting, migration rules and paid-up capital requirements for SMEs.
- Regulated entities will remain responsible for AI or ML tools they use, including third-party systems and their outputs.
- Planned AI rules may require kill switches, human oversight and stronger data controls to protect investors and markets.
