Supreme Court declines fresh plea on Cauvery water allocation amid state dispute
- The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to entertain a fresh plea on Cauvery river water allocation.
- Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta said the states were already contesting the matter between themselves.
- The Cauvery Water Management Authority, on 25 August, had directed Karnataka to release 9,000 cusecs to Tamil Nadu.
- The Joseph Vijay-led Tamil Nadu government had approached the apex court on 3 August seeking water release directions.
