The world's biggest electric plane just flew for under ₹500
- The X1, built by Swedish company Heart Aerospace, flew for 27 minutes on August 12 from an airport in New York.
- It is the largest battery electric aircraft ever flown, with a 106 foot wingspan. Charging it for the whole flight cost about ₹481.
- This was a test aircraft with no passengers. The 30 seat version is expected in service by 2031.
- United Airlines has ordered 100 of them. The company says battery weight and flying range remain the main problems.
