- Trump accused Canada of charging American farmers massive tariffs for many years, saying that would stop now.
- Canadian PM Mark Carney said on Saturday new tariffs targeting US steel and dairy will take effect from September 8.
- New 50% US tariffs on about $20 billion of Canadian goods, or 5.5% of exports to the US, came into force Saturday.
