UK, Ukraine sign AI defence pact for battlefield tech
- UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed an AI defence partnership in Kyiv to jointly develop battlefield technologies.
- The UK will become the first foreign partner to access Ukraine’s Avengers AI Labs, which uses real combat data from cameras and infrared sensors to train AI systems.
- The partnership will focus on AI-enabled fibre sensors, low-power chips, drones, robotics and autonomous military systems-using battlefield data to improve detection and decision-making.
