- UN climate chief Simon Stiell praised India's Green Energy Corridor Phase-III scheme on Thursday.
- The scheme approved by the Centre on Wednesday, will build transmission and storage for 135 GW of renewables.
- It also aims to fix "curtailment", where grid operators limit renewable output to maintain stability.
- The scheme has a Rs 1.86 lakh crore outlay, including Rs 54,082 crore in central financial assistance.
