- Uttar Pradesh proposed a 500-acre "Japan City" near Noida International Airport for Japanese manufacturers.
- Escorts Kubota and Minda Corporation began work on plants worth Rs 3,191 crore, expected to create 10,000 jobs.
- The projects follow the UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026, held from 18-23 August in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
- Japan City will include Japanese schools, healthcare and grocery stores, alongside planned Korean and Singapore cities.
