US Mint unveils special $1 coin featuring Trump for America’s 250th anniversary
- The US Mint began selling a $1 coin on Wednesday featuring Trump’s face, marking America’s 250th anniversary.
- Though the coin looks gold, it is mostly made of copper. A roll of 25 costs $61, far above its face value.
- The move is notable because only one living president, Calvin Coolidge in 1926, had previously appeared on circulating US currency.
- The design was approved by the Commission of Fine Arts, whose members were appointed by Trump.
