Wayanad aims to become India’s first e-waste-free district by November 1
- Wayanad, a district in Kerala, is working to become India’s first district officially declared free of electronic waste.
- The campaign covers old phones, computers, appliances and other unused electronics from homes, offices and businesses.
- In the first phase, authorities collected around 31 tonnes of e-waste from government offices across Wayanad.
- The collected waste will be sorted into about 50 categories and safely processed to prevent harmful chemicals from polluting the environment.
