West Bengal to sign Centre pact on September 28 for new Purulia airport
- West Bengal will sign an agreement with the Centre on September 28 to set up an airport in Purulia under the UDAN scheme.
- The state has finalised preparations and already applied for the required airport licence, CM Suvendu Adhikari said.
- The airport is expected to improve air connectivity and support tourism, infrastructure and industrial growth in Purulia.
- The state is also eyeing around ₹1 lakh crore in investments in Purulia over the next year across sectors including defence, steel, cement and solar.
