- Indian-origin investment adviser Siddharth Jawahar, 38, has been sentenced to 11 years in US federal prison for running a $35 million Ponzi scheme.
- Jawahar founded Texas-based Swiftarc Capital and allegedly took over $35 million from investors, but invested only about $10 million of it.
- He used new investors’ money to repay earlier investors and spent funds on a lavish lifestyle, prosecutors said.
- The scheme had 64 victims, including Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce; Jawahar was also ordered to pay $31.35 million in restitution.
