Why do students at this Assam school bring plastic as fees?
- Akshar Forum in Pamohi, Assam, allows students to bring cleaned plastic waste instead of paying regular school fees in cash.
- Students typically collect around 25 plastic items each week, which the school uses for recycling projects such as eco-bricks and other reusable products.
- Founded in 2016, the school combines classroom learning with environmental awareness and vocational training, teaching children how waste can be turned into something useful.
