Why shouldn’t you look at the Moon on Ganesh Chaturthi?
- Ganesh Chaturthi 2026 falls on September 14, marking the traditional celebration of Lord Ganesha’s birth.
- Hindu tradition says seeing the Moon on Ganesh Chaturthi may bring false accusations or blame, known as Mithya Dosha.
- The belief comes from a story in which Chandra mocked Ganesha’s appearance, angering him and leading to a curse on the Moon.
- The story’s spiritual lesson is to avoid pride and quick judgments, and pause before blaming or reacting to others.
