30+ railway staff assaulted on duty between 2021 and 2025, RTI shows
- An RTI revealed that more than 30 South Central Railway employees were assaulted while on duty between 2021 and 2025.
- Nanded recorded the highest number of attacks at 16, followed by Secunderabad with 14 and Guntakal with two.
- Those attacked included TTEs, ticket inspectors, station masters and Railway Protection Force personnel, with ticket-checking staff frequently targeted.
- Thirty FIRs were filed in the cases, including under Section 132 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 146 of the Railways Act.
