Australia expands biometric checks for visa applicants in India from 26 October

• Australia has expanded biometric collection to visa applicants in India, covering fingerprints and a facial image.
The rule applies to applications lodged on or after 26 October, and visas already granted are not affected.
Applicants will be told by the Department of Home Affairs if they must give biometrics, usually by email.
They may attend one of 16 collection centres run by VFS Global, or use the Australian Immi App if eligible.
