Jamia announces student union polls after 20 years as students reject order

Jamia Millia Islamia said on Monday it will hold students’ union polls, 20 years after dissolving the body.
The order says voting will follow 15 days after the union constitution is approved, but sets no date for that.
Protesting students rejected the order as ambiguous and said their agitation would continue on campus.
The university revoked suspensions and show-cause notices and will examine the security staff’s conduct.
