- Bangladesh’s gas crisis, which intensified from July 21, is forcing factories to cut production, close units and send workers home.
- The situation worsened after Excelerate Energy’s LNG terminal ran out of inventory, further reducing gas available to industries.
- More than 300 factories in Narsingdi alone have halted production, while industries in other major belts are also struggling.
- The industrial energy crisis could cost up to Tk 2,387 crore in lost output daily, according to the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce.
