Israel is trying to shape what AI says about Gaza, report says
- Israel has been running a campaign to shape how AI chatbots like ChatGPT answer questions about Gaza, Palestine and its military — according to new reports.
- The campaign works through a website called the Hanover Institute, which looks like an independent US research group but actually publishes Israel-friendly reports that AI tools have been found citing.
- Investigators found the institute has put out over 100 unsigned reports since August 6, and that it was secretly set up by an Israeli government ad agency, which paid $900,000 for the work.
