- The Centre appointed Mandeep K Bhandari as chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE.
- He replaces interim chief Lokhande Prashant Sitaram and was earlier a top J&K government official.
- Bhandari is the third CBSE chief in four months after complaints over the digital evaluation of Class 12 papers.
- He is a 2001-batch officer who has served as Deputy Commissioner of Leh and Jammu, among other posts.
