CISF to exit Visakhapatnam Steel Plant by November 17
- The Home Ministry approved the complete CISF withdrawal from Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on August 18.
- A subsequent August 21 communication directed the withdrawal to be completed after a three-month notice period.
- CISF’s security and fire wings are scheduled to leave the plant by November 17, ending a deployment dating to 1983.
- The withdrawal covers 1,331 sanctioned posts, including 1,033 security and 298 fire-wing posts; a replacement setup is yet to be specified.
