Everest, Laljee Godhoo face FSSAI action over sub-standard hing
- FSSAI has reportedly stopped Everest Food Products and Laljee Godhoo from selling compounded hing after samples failed prescribed food safety standards.
- Everest’s hing samples were found misbranded and sub-standard, with some showing alcoholic extract below the required 5% minimum.
- Laljee Godhoo’s hing products were also found sub-standard, while some raw hing used in production reportedly contained excess starch.
- Both companies have been asked to submit corrective action plans, and the ban will remain until satisfactory compliance is established.
