Expert panel urges NEET-PG rank-based cut-offs to replace percentile system
- A 12-member expert panel asked the Supreme Court on Tuesday to replace NEET-PG percentile cut-offs with ranks.
- The National Medical Commission has approved it in principle, and a rollout from 2027 is being considered.
- The panel said standards should not be lowered to fill vacant seats and urged lower non-clinical fees.
- Cut-offs were lowered repeatedly, and 95,913 more candidates became eligible after the January cut.
