FSSAI files three cases against Nestlé India over infant formula claims and biotin levels
- Food Safety and Standards Authority of India FSSAI filed three cases against Nestlé India on September 18.
- FSSAI flagged claims on NAN Excella Pro Stage 1 and Lactogen Pro 1, powdered infant formulas used as breast-milk substitutes for babies.
- A separate follow-up formula sample had less biotin, or vitamin B7, than required, confirmed by a second lab.
- Nestlé says its claims are scientifically supported and regulator-approved, and it is cooperating with authorities.
