HDFC Bank CEO Jagdishan to retire on Oct 26, declines reappointment
- Sashidhar Jagdishan told the board he does not wish to seek reappointment and will retire on October 26, 2026.
- The board said it tried to persuade him to reconsider, but Jagdishan reiterated his decision at Saturday’s meeting.
- He took charge in October 2020, succeeding Aditya Puri, and oversaw HDFC Ltd’s merger with HDFC Bank in 2023.
- HDFC Bank will now fast-track the search for his successor, with the stock recently hitting a 52-week low.
