Himachal Pradesh to remove caste column from school admission forms
- Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the caste column will be removed from school admission forms from the next academic session.
- He said the move would end caste-based discrimination and stop children developing any sense of inferiority.
- Scheduled caste members will still give caste details when availing government schemes and benefits.
- The state also plans 300 free power units and Rs 1,500 monthly pension for women of extremely poor families.
