DRDO tests indigenous combat parachute system at 22,000 feet in Ladakh
- DRDO successfully tested its indigenous Military Combat Parachute System MCPS at 22,000 feet in Ladakh.
- Test jumpers made the jump in temperatures as low as -15°C, putting the system through extreme high-altitude conditions.
- The parachute opened at 20,000 feet, and the jumpers landed safely at an altitude of 13,700 feet.
- The MCPS was developed by DRDO labs in Agra and Bengaluru and includes an indigenous para computer, oxygen system and specialised jumpsuits.
