Hyderabad hospitals report more fevers, and warn against self-medicating
- Hyderabad recorded 266 dengue cases up to mid-July, against 570 in the same period last year and 821 in 2024.
- But Kamineni Hospitals report more patients coming in with viral fevers and flu, as influenza rises nationally.
- The difficulty is that dengue, flu and an ordinary viral fever look almost identical for the first 48 hours.
- So doctors say get a blood test if a fever lasts beyond three days, and never start antibiotics on your own.
