India adds 5 sites, including 4 from Madhya Pradesh, to UNESCO's Tentative List
- Five new proposals have joined India’s UNESCO Tentative List, taking the country’s total from 73 to 78.
- Four are in Madhya Pradesh: Bagh Cave Paintings, Udaigiri Caves, Ginnorgarh and Chambal Valley temples.
- The fifth proposal covers 7 places in India and 2 in South Africa linked to Mahatma Gandhi’s Satyagraha movement.
- Joining the Tentative List is the first required step before a site can be considered for UNESCO World Heritage status.
