Navi Mumbai airport plans massive expansion to handle 9 crore flyers by 2040
- NMIA said it aims to handle 9 crore passengers annually before 2040, announced on September 29.
- With a current annual capacity of
- 2 crore passengers, it plans to scale up to 9 crore passengers upon completion of its four terminals.
- It currently operates 95-110 flights daily to 46 destinations and plans around 200 flights in its winter schedule.
- Cargo capacity is planned to rise from 5 lakh to 33.5 lakh tonnes, with pharma and perishables among key goods.
