- India has emerged as a key petrol supplier to Russia amid fuel shortages caused by attacks on Russian refineries.
- Indian refiners supplied nearly 1 million barrels of petrol to Russia over the past two months, trade data showed.
- Much of the supply came from Nayara Energy’s Vadinar refinery in Gujarat, partly owned by Russia’s Rosneft.
- Russia’s seaborne petrol imports rose to a record 1,25,000 barrels per day in August as refinery disruptions hit domestic output.
