India’s economy will continue growing at 7%: Nirmala Sitharaman
- Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on August 30 said India is expected to maintain economic growth of around 7% this year, continuing its post-Covid momentum.
- She said the economy remains resilient despite wars, tariff uncertainties and disruptions to global energy and fertiliser supplies through the Strait of Hormuz.
- The RBI currently projects India’s real GDP growth at 6.7% for 2026-27, slightly below Sitharaman’s assessment of around 7%.
