India's oil imports safe as US House stalls Trump’s 100% tariff plan on Russia
- The US Senate's Russia sanctions bill has stalled in the House, and is unlikely to move before the November midterms.
- That matters for India, because the bill lets Trump tariff the top five buyers of Russian energy.

- India bought 30.3 per cent of its crude from Russia in FY26, worth about $40.8 billion, which puts it squarely in range.
