IndiGo flight fire prompts nationwide ban on MOBIKINS power bank
- India's aviation regulator, Directorate General of Civil Aviation DGCA, banned the MOBIKINS MK-PB-04 power bank on flights.
- The ban follows a power bank fire on an IndiGo Delhi-Chennai flight, which was diverted to Hyderabad on October 11.
- The banned model cannot be carried in cabin bags, checked luggage or cargo on flights within, to or from India.
- Airlines must check for the banned model and inform passengers. Other power banks remain allowed under existing safety rules.
