Iran vows to counter US 'economic D-Day' sanctions with confidence and resilience
- US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced what he called an economic D-Day against Iran on Monday.
- It targets Iran's oil, shipping, gold, aviation and crypto trade, to sever every lifeline until Tehran stands alone.
- But only sixty individuals, entities and vessels were named, with no Chinese banks and no countries listed at all.
- Iran's economy minister Ali Madanizadeh said his government has had a two-year plan ready and predicted the new US sanctions would fail, just as previous rounds had.
