Madras High Court upholds resignations of six AIADMK MLAs who joined TVK

The Madras High Court on Tuesday upheld Tamil Nadu Speaker JCD Prabhakar’s decision to accept six AIADMK MLAs’ resignations.
The six, elected on AIADMK tickets in April, resigned between 25 May and 29 June and later joined the ruling TVK.
The petition challenging the Speaker’s decision had been filed by AIADMK whip Agri SS Krishnamurthy.
Two of them, Maragatham Kumaravel and P Sathyabama, won bypolls as TVK candidates on 6 October.
