Mumbai milk prices to rise by ₹9 per litre from September 1
- The Mumbai Milk Producers Association has announced a ₹9-per-litre hike in wholesale milk prices from September 1, 2026.
- The wholesale rate will increase from ₹93 to ₹102 per litre and remain in force until February 28, 2027.
- Producers cited rising costs of dairy animals, cattle feed and fodder, with some feed ingredients becoming up to 25% costlier.
- The hike could push up retail prices and raise costs for sweet shops, bakeries and other businesses that use large quantities of milk.
