Murder convict escaped parole, became teacher and won Best Teacher award
- A 73-year-old life convict stayed out of prison for over 40 years after failing to return from parole in March 1984.
- During that time, he became a government school teacher, retired in 2013 and won a Best Teacher Award in 2004.
- He was arrested in 2024, and the Telangana High Court refused to give him further parole or remission benefits.
- The court said he had deliberately evaded arrest and obtained the government job by hiding his conviction, while also directing authorities to better track prisoners released on parole.
