President Trump claims the US owns the Moon in a Truth Social post
- Trump posted an image of the Moon on Truth Social on Sunday, captioned The Moon is Ours, with a US flag beside it.
- It came in a burst of roughly 40 posts over two hours, including AI-generated Space Force uniforms in black and grey.
- The 1967 Outer Space Treaty, which the US signed, says no country can claim the Moon or any celestial body.
- No policy or legal action accompanied the post, and he also suggested renaming New Mexico to New America.
