- CM Revanth Reddy inaugurated the Dr Marri Chenna Reddy Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences on August 17, 2026.
- It sits on 22.6 acres inside the Government Chest Hospital campus, with 11.68 lakh square feet of built-up area and 1,082 beds, including 300 ICU beds. It cost between ₹1,070 crore and ₹1,126 crore. Services begin with 582 beds, and the rest open by October.
- The project was sanctioned in April 2022 under the previous BRS government, which laid the foundation stone. It was completed and opened by the current Congress government.
- Both sides are claiming credit. Revanth Reddy said the earlier government only laid foundation stones without releasing funds. KTR said KCR laid the foundations and pushed construction.
