Ludhiana becomes first Punjab city to map and geo-tag 2 lakh trees

- Each tree is digitally recorded with details such as its location, species, size, age and health condition.
- The database will help officials track missing or illegally cut trees and plan better protection for city green spaces.
- The exercise follows directions from the National Green Tribunal NGT to document and protect Ludhiana’s urban trees.
