Sonia Gandhi switches publishers after Penguin India sought cuts to memoir
- An aide told Hindustan Times that Penguin Random House India wanted three or four passages removed from her memoir.
- These reportedly included Modi's 2004 'Jersey cow' remark, comparisons with his predecessors, and references to the RSS.
- Penguin also objected to passages on India-China ties and Chinese incursions, the aide said; she refused the cuts.
- HarperCollins is now closing a deal for India; Penguin's US imprint Knopf publishes globally on November 10.
