- A bench of Justices MM Sundresh and PB Varale made the remark while hearing Biswanath Mandal's bail plea.
- Mandal is accused in an NDPS case involving the alleged seizure of 252.330 kg of ganja in Cooch Behar.
- He challenged the Calcutta High Court's 13 February 2026 order rejecting his anticipatory bail application.
