Tamil nadu announces 6,000 government college faculty jobs
- Higher Education Minister P Viswanathan announced on August 24 that 6,000 assistant professors would be recruited in three phases.
- He made the announcement in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, during the debate on grants for the Higher Education Department.
- Viswanathan said ₹1,000 crore would be allocated to improve infrastructure at government educational institutions.
- He also raised guest lecturer monthly pay from ₹30,000 to ₹35,000 and announced student loans of up to ₹20 lakh.
