Tamil Nadu expands medical education with 6,098 seats
- Tamil Nadu will add 6,098 healthcare education seats, including 660 BSc Nursing and 2,778 paramedical seats statewide.
- The state has allocated ₹351 crore to expand admissions in government medical colleges and establish seven nursing colleges.
- A 400-bed multi-speciality hospital will be built in Perambalur at an estimated cost of ₹300 crore for advanced treatment.
- The health insurance scheme’s annual treatment limit is proposed to rise from ₹5 lakh to ₹25 lakh across Tamil Nadu.
