UP approves lifelong free bus travel for women over 60
- The Uttar Pradesh cabinet has approved lifelong free bus travel for women aged 60 and above under a new scheme.
- Eligible women can travel across the state on 14,244 buses by showing an Aadhaar or Voter ID card.
- Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh said more than one crore women will benefit, describing the move as a Rakhi gift.
- The cabinet also approved 250 electric buses at a cost of ₹400 crore and an extension of the Ganga Expressway towards Haridwar.
